Question
Why do I need to sign a builder code on Hyperliquid?
Answer
Signing our builder code allows for all application fees to be replaced by the builder fees on all Hyperliquid trades. Hyperliquid requires your approval to do this.
When you sign our builder code, you are approving a permissioned setting for a specific wallet within Hyperliquid that links your account to our fee structure. This replaces the default application fees with the builder’s fees for trades done through that builder code on all Hyperliquid trades. The signature is used only to verify account ownership and your consent to the fee change. It is not a blockchain transaction, does not move funds, and does not grant access to your wallet, trading permissions, or private keys. You retain full control of your account at all times.
